A northern suburb of Cincinnati offering all the advantages of a small town with the

The City of Wyoming's Historic District is
on the National Register of Historic Places. Beautification awards are given annually to

Northeast region winner of the "The Prettiest Painted Places in America" award,
was ranked first as the best place to live by the Cincinnati Magazine in May 2000, and has
been recognized for the past eight years as a "Tree City USA" for excellence in
its comprehensive urban forestry program.
Known for excellent public schools, Wyoming
is consistently ranking among the top six districts in Ohio. The district has achieved the
distinction of being named an "Effective District" by the Ohio Department of
Education for meeting all standards on the state proficiency tests since the inception of
the reporting system. Recognized by Ohio Department of Education as one of only eight Ohio
districts with high student results and a cost-effective operation. Recognized by the
President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities as one of the top ten schools nationwide
for fine arts education. Schools are regularly among the regional and state champions in

Wyoming living. About 140 residents volunteer on city boards and commissions. Hundreds of others volunteer in the fire department, schools and school activities, recreation programs, music and drama programs, and community organizations. Citizens of the Year are recognized annually
for outstanding service to the community. Recycling of solid waste is the highest of any community in Hamilton
County.
Known for responsive, progressive city government and outstanding public service. Government officials
are visible and accessible to the community and actively seek input from citizens. All
meetings are open to the public. Citizens may bring any matter to the attention of the
Council during the Citizen Participation portion of agenda. Boards and Commissions, made
up of residents, provide input and guidance to City Council. Residents provided input and
guidance to the 1997 Ten Year Master Plan and the 1999 Recreation Master Plan, which guide
improvements and development into the next century. Wyoming provides its own full-range of
public services including public safety, water, planning and zoning, and construction and maintenance of streets. Public services are efficient
and effective. The police, emergency medical service and fire department typically respond to emergency calls within minutes.
